The reasons behind my cancellation policy

After a good exploration of the website, you should be aware of my terms and conditions, in particular the cancellation policy. (Can be found below)
I love my job and am a very loyal person. I will always go out of my way to help a family where possible. I have had a lot of support from my current families after creating this policy.
I feel the need for this policy due to having bookings cancelled at short notice and not being paid. This means that I lose income that I am unable to make up. On a couple of occasions, I was already at the family's home ready to start the sit.
The other common situation which greatly affects me is when the sit ends earlier than the agreed booking end time and full payment is not received. I cannot make this time up. They are losses. I am self-employed and if I do not work, I receive no payment or benefits.
When a child attends a nursery, holiday clubs, swimming lessons etc, full payment is expected even if the child does not attend. I do not understand why I am not valued enough for all families to do the same.
The Bubble childcare app say they cannot enforce this type of cancellation policy, but I have noticed some of the agencies do.

Cancellation policy

Bookings cancelled by you within 24 hours of the start time nee to be paid in full at the time of the cancellation.

Bookings which you cancel within 24-36 hours of the start time will need to adhere to the following:

*6 hours or less bookings will need to pay 3 hours at the time of cancellation

*over 6 hours bookings will need to pay 50% at the time of cancellation

Obviously if for any reason it is myself who cancels there will be no payment due as you will need to find some other form of childcare at short notice.
